About Indian Plastics Institute (IPI)
Training for the plastic industry in India with over 3 decades of standing, with its Head Office in Mumbai. IPI was formed from taking over Plastics & Rubber Institute, London (PRI). IPI has 14 Chapters and 7 sub chapters in all major centers in India with over 3000 professional members from the industry, and 2 Overseas Association partnerships with Sri Lanka & Nepal The Institute conducts National and International seminars and conferences. IPI also conducts number of short term diploma courses in plastics and related subjects.
IPI play a vital and complementary role to universities and other educational institutes in drafting course curricula, providing “Visiting Faculty” facilities through its members and arranging industrial training for students
The Institute publishes bi-monthly “IPI JOURNAL” for the members.

Objectives
To disseminate information about plastics and the industry natural and synthetic high polymers and related materials.
To project plastics, natural and synthetic high polymers and other related materials as Eco-friendly materials with excellent recyclability and their contribution in conserving natural resources and saving energy.
To form and organize a strong professional body of those connected with plastics, natural and synthetic high polymers and related materials
To create awareness amongst public, NGOs and policy makers about the beneficial role plastics play in improving overall quality of life.
IPI – Chennai Chapter
The Chennai Chapter of IPI, has been in the service of plastics industry for over 3 decades. The chapter has been conducting Technical Lectures, Seminars and Conferences on a regular basis. Since last 3 years, the Chapter has conducted many Technical Lecture and etc. The Chennai Chapter conducts 10 technical lectures and 1 seminar on an average every year.
All the programs are conducted in convenient venues with fellowship, attracts large attendance for Technical Lectures and Seminars.
The chapter has more than 200 active members who are involved in the progress, growth and development of the Institute activities.
